1. Check with code #06#
This method applies to both iOS and Android:
-
Open the Phone app and dial *#06# .

If you see the line appear EID (Embedded Identity Document), your device supports eSIM.

If you don't see an EID, your device may not support eSIM or may be carrier locked.
2. Check in device settings
For iOS (iPhone):
Go to Settings > Mobile
-
If you see the option " Add eSIM " or " Add mobile plan " “ Activate eSIM ” then the device supports eSIM.
For Android:

- If you see the option " Add eSIM " or " Add cellular plan " then your device supports eSIM.
B. PHONE IS NOT LOCKED OR HAS BEEN JACKLOCKED
A network-locked phone ( or carrier-locked phone ) is a phone that can only be used with a specific network operator and cannot use SIM/eSIMs from other networks.
This happens when a user purchases a phone on a contract with a carrier , meaning the device is tied to only working with that carrier's SIM/eSIM for a certain period of time.
Even if your phone supports eSIM , you still can't use another carrier's eSIM if your device is network locked.
You can check if your phone is locked as follows:
For iOS (iPhone):
Go to Settings > General > About :
-
Check “ Network Lock ” : If it shows “ Unlimited SIM ” , the device is not network locked.
For Android:
Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Management :
-
Check “ Select mobile network ” and “ Select network automatically ”, if multiple carriers appear, your device is not locked.
