What is eSIM and what devices can use it?
eSIM is an electronic SIM built into the phone, no need to install a physical SIM. You just need to scan the QR code to use it immediately. iPhone models from XS and above, many Samsung Galaxy models, Google Pixel... all support eSIM. However, some iPhone and Samsung models purchased in Japan, China, Macao, Hong Kong may not support eSIM.
How to install and activate Aviro eSIM/physical SIM?
For eSIM: After payment, you will receive a QR code via email. To set up, make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile network, then follow the instructions in the product description to set up. Please note that most eSIM plans will start counting usage time from the moment the eSIM is activated on the device. Therefore, you should set up the eSIM on the day of departure, avoiding early activation which will reduce usage time.
For physical SIM: SIM is delivered to you through popular carriers today. After receiving the SIM, you insert it into SIM slot 1 (if the device has 2 SIM slots), select the SIM using data as the SIM Aviro has just installed and turn on data roaming to use. Some packages will be automatically activated when the SIM is installed and connected to the network for the first time. If additional settings are required, please refer to the detailed instructions sent by Aviro.
What should I do if I have problems activating my eSIM?
If you encounter an error during installation or cannot connect to the network after scanning the QR code, first check if the device is connected to Wi-Fi and make sure to follow the instructions correctly. If it still fails, you can simply contact Aviro via chat or call 0384.909.454 (hotline) for the fastest support. If you are abroad, please find a Wi-Fi point at the airport or hotel to contact us. We are always ready to support you to check and handle it quickly.
Can eSIM be used in parallel with Vietnamese SIM?
Absolutely. You can keep your main SIM to receive domestic calls and messages and at the same time use Aviro's eSIM to access the Internet when abroad. This feature is very convenient, no need to remove the SIM and still ensures continuous connection. Make sure your main SIM is registered for roaming before leaving Vietnam. Do not enable the "allow mobile data switching" function to avoid the phone using the capacity from your main SIM. Using a Roaming SIM from Vietnam can be very expensive and cause signal interference in some cases, so if not really necessary, we recommend turning off the Vietnam SIM line and using only one Aviro line for the phone.
Can eSIM share Wi-Fi with other devices?
Most eSIM plans from Aviro allow data sharing via Wi-Fi hotspot. However, some plans may be limited depending on the carrier's regulations. Please read the product description for each plan carefully or contact us for specific advice.
I accidentally deleted eSIM, can I reinstall it?
The eSIM can only be set up once. If you delete or remove the eSIM from your device, the QR code cannot be used again. In this case, you will need to purchase a new eSIM to continue using it. Therefore, we recommend not removing the eSIM from your device unless specifically instructed by Aviro or when it is no longer needed.
Can non-mobile devices use the Avro eSIM?
This depends on the LTE band of your device and the LTE band in the country you are visiting. The LTE band of this non-phone device must be the same as the band in the country you are visiting.
LTE networks use different frequency bands:
- North America: mainly 700, 1700, 1900 and 2100 MHz
- Europe: mainly 800, 1800, 2600 MHz
- Asia: 1800, 2600 MHz
- Australia: 1800 MHz
- Taiwan: 700, 900, 1800 MHz
So, a device that works fine in one country may not work in another if it doesn’t support the right frequency band. Therefore, you need to use a device that supports multiple frequency bands to be able to use Aviro eSIM for international travel.
For devices other than mobile phones with a physical SIM slot, whether the device supports eSIM and network roaming, please contact our customer service for advice.
